Research Experience & Awards

  • 2020 - current: PhD on corporate financialization, focusing on the empirics of shareholder primacy among all stock-listed firms and its consequences for investments, economic performance, and inequalities. List of Publications.
  • 2024 - current: Member of the progressive thinkthank Denktank Minerva.
  • 2023 - current: Blogging on Belgian Economics, doing pet, fun, research with friends. Lots of very good ideas, but no time. You might still find some interesting stuff, for example on the history of Belgian top marginal tax rates.
  • 2018 - 2019: Master’s thesis on “Financialization and rentier income in the Euro Area” (Summa cum laude, 19/20). Awarded the Marthe Versichelen prize for best thesis.
  • 2019 - 2020: Master’s thesis on “Taking stock of corporate financialization in Europe” (Magna cum laude, 16/20).
  • 2017 - 2018: Bachelor Paper on “Political aspects of monetary policy: Towards a rentier central bank?” (Summa cum laude, 18/20).
  • 2019 - 2020: Research collaboration with FairFin (NGO) on the financial needs of the environmental transition.
  • 2019 - 2020: Data-driven research using Eikon1 (Thomson Reuters Refinitiv) in collaboration with FairFin and Catapa on the financing of mining projects in Latin America.

  • 2014 - 2015: Training on development cooperation and worldwide inequalities at the NGO “Défi Belgique Afrique (DBA)” and involvement in rebuilding program in Madagascar.
